Landyn D. Jordan, MPH

Landyn is a multidisciplinary leader and social impact strategist with deep experience in delivering dynamic solutions for government and nonprofit organizations. As the Founder and CEO of Slate312, a boutique consulting practice, Landyn empowers clients to address complex challenges, foster community development, and drive sustainable outcomes.

 

In addition to leading Slate312, Landyn serves as a senior team lead at a globally recognized technology firm, where he provides strategic advisory and operational expertise to state and local governments across the country. From managing multimillion-dollar federal grant portfolios to operationalizing large-scale government initiatives, Landyn brings unparalleled expertise in program design, fiscal management, stakeholder engagement, and capacity building.

Earlier in his career, Landyn led United Way's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, a national initiative funded and overseen by the Internal Revenue Service. As Chair of the Earned Income Tax Assistance Coalition, he partnered with then-U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown's office and major financial institutions to expand access to the Earned Income Tax Credit, the nation’s most effective anti-poverty program. Under his leadership, the program helped generate over $10 million in economic impact for low- and moderate-income families, addressing the social determinants of health through financial stability and workforce development advocacy.

Highlights of Landyn’s career include helping to manage the operational response during the COVID-19 pandemic for Chicago Department of Public Health - one of the nation’s largest public health departments, driving program design and fiscal oversight for a $100M federal funding portfolio for a local government, and supporting countless professionals in contributing to a better world through volunteerism. His work has earned accolades for innovation and excellence in advancing community-focused initiatives.

Landyn holds a Master of Public Health in Health Education and Promotion and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Toledo. He has also earned a graduate certificate in Global Health. Committed to fostering community and innovation, Landyn serves on the Cook County Council on Digital Equity, advocating for broadband expansion and digital skills development in underserved communities.

Outside of work, Landyn is an avid traveler, having explored over 20 countries. He is passionate about promoting interest in the continent of Africa among the diaspora, believing that through travel, there is power in building bridges and appreciation of Africa's diverse and rich culture. In his spare time, he enjoys sharing meals with friends, experimenting as an amateur chef, and attending local events that celebrate the arts and unity.
